VERITAS
Every day, young people are confronted with difficult choices: to drink or not to drink; to date or not to date and/or who to date; to marry or not to marry, etc. We deal with many issues and make decisions that can drastically change our lives. Whether or not we realize it, we, as young adults, make these choices under the guidance of certain influences, one of which is television. As such, television affords an excellent opportunity to make a telling impact in the lives of young people.
Sadly, there is a lack of good Christian programming for young people, programming that affords an authentic, biblical perspective on issues of relevance to young people. It is for this reason that we produced VERITAS, a 30-minute Christian television program for young people between the ages of 16 and 25.
VERITAS: Vigilant Evangelists Revealing Insightful Topics Affirming Salvation. The name is a constant reminder of the mission of the show which is to educate and council young people on biblical truths regarding many of today’s issues.
The program addresses everything from dress to sexuality, education, suffering to alcohol and drugs. Each episode would present what the Bible really says about a chosen topic, giving young people the opportunity to make an informed decision. Armed with such an understanding, young people will be challenged to the realization that every choice they make is a matter of life and death; that every decision has a bearing on their lives. Consequently, the program would exhort young people to choose life by exposing them to the truth.
The basic structure would be of a group of young people sitting at a “round-table,” with a host who facilitates the discussion. One person (reporter) reports on basic research regarding the topic in question and present(s) to the group both social and biblical findings. At the end of his/her presentation, the other members discuss the topic and lead it to a final reflection from the host, who concludes with further Biblical teachings and revelations. The discussion is dynamic, engaging, and captivating.
In the 30-minute show, we will not be able to address the topic in depth. The show will emphasize the basics, leaving room for further study. Young people who have an interest in learning more about the topic will be invited to join us for in-depth Bible studies to be held locally in Boston or online (webcast/podcast, online Bible studies).

Excellent work with this. The need for creative biblical media is needed so desperately. I will post on our blog http://www.enjoythejourneydc.com we are a group of Young Adults in the DC Metro area also trying to make an impact in the culture. May God continue to use your organization!
